Simple pine 1x6s to make the frame. Planed to 1/2" thick.

Gluing in the support for the backboard. Cut each side to correct length with a 45° angle.

Big clamps help glue the frame together. Metal brackets are added to the corners for strength.

Filling & sanding the sides to a smooth finish, ready for paint.

Cutting and sanding the cubes.

A custom jig to hold the cubes at the correct angle while they get drilled. Bolts hold the cubes onto the backboard.
